Overview
The Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) plays a crucial role in maintaining public safety and rehabilitation within the state. However, the effectiveness of the KDOC largely depends on recruiting and retaining dedicated professionals, especially corrections officers. To address the pressing need for a more user-friendly and informative platform, this capstone project aims to redesign the Kansas Correctional Facility Careers website.

Challenge
Kansas Correctional Facility Careers website, which serves as a platform for people looking for jobs with the Kansas Department of Corrections. The current website lacks user-friendly features and fails to effectively communicate the benefits and opportunities of a career with the KDOC, particularly in the field of corrections officers. The website's primary goal is to help users gain knowledge about career opportunities within the KDOC, specifically emphasizing the need for corrections officers. The website should effectively communicate why potential applicants should consider a career in corrections and provide a seamless user experience to encourage them to explore job opportunities further.

Current Website
The Kansas Department Of Correction website consists of multiple distinct sections, with one specifically focused on employment opportunities. I actively contributed to the enhancement of this employment section during the ongoing website redesign process.
User Scenario
I created 2 user profiles and scenarios that helped me guide  in design decisions. These User profile and Scenario represent our target users.
Rose, Bud, Thorn Exercise
A Rose, Bud & Thorn exercise is useful while trying to redesign an existing feature. In this exercise, we asked 3 existing users their feedback about KDOC Employment Website. We gave them 15 minutes to complete the exercise and another 15 min to walk us through their thinking.

We defined 3 columns as:
Rose - What’s working well and is a highlight?
Bud - What can be improved? Do you have any ideas that you could share?
Thorn - What felt broken or unexpected?
Insights
We gathered all the roses, buds, and thorns, then presented it to Project Manager, Team, and Client to figure out what we should keep, modify, or improve. With their assistance and vote, we developed a ranked priority list for the redesign.
