How we can create a solution to simplify and improve farmers market experience and get more customers?
After moving to the United States from India, I was reminded of my habit of visiting local farmers' markets. As someone who loves cooking with fresh ingredients, I was unsure of how to find farm-fresh produce and where to discover farmers' markets happening around me.
Additionally, I discovered various farm-based events like strawberry picking and pumpkin patches hosted on farms here in the USA.

It became clear that having an app that could provide a centralized platform to access information about upcoming farmers' markets and farm-based events in my area would not only make my life easier but also provide a platform to connect with local farmers. Such an app would enable me to explore and engage with both farmers' markets and these delightful farm-based events in the Bay Area.

Design Process
To start with research we interviewed 4 customers in Sunnyvale farmers market and also 2 neighbours to get insights of how the find information of farmers market.
Summary of Interviews
1)Visitor struggle to discover all the vendors in market.
2)Visitors are not aware about special events, promotions going in farmers market.
3)Visitors are unaware about real time information such as operating hours and vendors in the farmers market.
4)Some are unaware about farmers market happening in area.
5)Farmers market by visitors was found by word-of-mouth, facebook, and searching online.
Insight
One common potential area of improvement there was no app to collectively present all farmers market information by simplify and streamline the user interface to make it more intuitive, user-friendly and easy to locate. Many farmers apps offer a very less features, such as event time and location, information about sponsors and social networking, which can sometimes result in a cluttered and confusing usage of the app. By designing an app and making it more user-friendly could result in higher user engagement and more visits to farmers market to support locals, as well as a better overall user experience.‍
User Research
We conducted a second round of interview with 9 people to understand more about users and their requirement by asking them questions like
1)How often do you visit farmers market?
2)What are main reasons you visit farmers markets?
3)How do you typically find farmers market happening around?,etc.
4)Do you visit farm based events?
Detailed information: Users expressed a desire for farmers market finding apps to provide detailed farmers market information, such as detailed farmers market schedule descriptions, location, and reviews.

Ease of use:
They expressed frustrations with the current payment options, no vendor profile information, deals and discounts before purchasing and be looking for an app that can streamline this process.

User experience and design: Users were unhappy with current farmers market finding methods that are difficult to have exact information and there is no collective information at one place.
Analysis
By mapping the users' thoughts and emotions, behaviors and actions, as well as what they hear and see, we were able to identify their pain points and gains. This exercise provided valuable insight into the users' actions and behaviors, enabling us to establish a common understanding of their needs.

Takeaways
Details Matter: In this UX project, I learned that small things matter a lot in design. I realized that by carefully choosing fonts, colors, and spacing, we can make our design look better and work better for users. This attention to detail improved the overall user experience and made it easier for people to use our design.

User Goals are important: I learned to always remember what the user wants and needs when designing. My design should always match user goals.

What could I have done better?
Due to time constraints, I created a static image for the farmer's market map. However, I now realize that I could have made the map interactive with more time. Nonetheless, the process taught me how to transform a design from research into a prototype, and I found the experience enjoyable.
